How remote work actually runs

It starts with a call that is not about the design but about how the business runs and where it loses time. What is worth building falls out of that conversation.

After that you get a link to the work in progress that you can open whenever you like. No waiting a month for a presentation. Most of my products run for people I have never met in person.

Proof that distance does not matter

Paving Planner is a paid tool for paving contractors running in seven countries and languages. I have never met most of those customers face to face and it has never been a problem.

For local search it matters even less. A bike workshop near Bratislava holds average position 5.9 with 3,125 impressions in its first month, and the same approach works just as well in the east.

The east and around it

Košice, Prešov, Michalovce, Spišská Nová Ves, Bardejov and the surrounding area. In-person meetings can be arranged, but honestly, on most jobs they would be an expensive ritual. I would rather put that time into the work.

What clients here usually come for

An internal tool that replaces a spreadsheet a business has outgrown. A custom website for a local operation. A booking system without a fee on every reservation. Taking over a site from a supplier who stopped answering.

The east does not have fewer companies, it has fewer suppliers

Kosice is the second largest city in Slovakia and there is no shortage of businesses. Most of the people who can build software, however, sit inside a handful of large employers and have no time left for a small company.

Anyone who has tried knows the result: either you wait months for somebody to free up, or you pay an agency that hands the work to a junior. The third option, one person who does all of it and whom you speak to directly, is rarer there than in Bratislava.

That is the only reason this page exists. Not because I am sitting in Kosice.

Distance is dealt with once, at the start

The whole build runs through a link in a browser. You can open the work in progress at any time, feedback comes from live data, and handing over the keys is an email, not a drive across the country.

Both the boiler service CRM and the scaffolding hire system were built this way from start to finish. The price is the same as for a company outside Bratislava; kilometres are not billed.
