for beauty and nail studios
Booking for a beauty studio that eats neither your commission nor your time between clients
In beauty work people book through messages, and that is the worst possible form: they land when your hands are busy, and you answer them in the evening when the client already sits somewhere else.
Your own booking for a beauty salon or nail studio starts at 470 EUR as part of the website, and there is no commission paid on a reservation. The client picks the treatment and the length herself, a reminder goes out automatically a day ahead, and the treatment history stays in the card, not in your head.
What costs a studio the most money
Bookings come through messages
Instagram, Messenger, SMS. By the time you reply to the third one, the first has already found a free slot elsewhere.
A no-show cannot be recovered
A client skips a two-hour treatment and that window will not sell again. Without a reminder it happens far more often.
The history lives in your head
Which gel, which shade, which reaction to a product. After half a year you remember it only for your regulars.
Commission on a client you already know
For a booking by a regular you pay the portal again and again, even though nobody brought her to you.
What such a system includes
Booking on your own website with a choice of treatment and its real length. A manicure and a full set do not take the same time, and a calendar that ignores that will wreck your day.
An automatic reminder a day ahead and the option to offer a freed slot on right away. This is the cheapest part of the system and pays for itself first, because a filled chair earns and an empty one does not.
A client card with treatment history, the products used and a note about sensitivity or allergy. It matters for safety, and commercially it works as the reason she keeps coming back.
A website built around what people actually search for, meaning the treatment and the city district. A booking window makes no sense when nobody can reach it.
Selling home care straight from the card. A client you recommend a specific product to after a treatment buys it from you, not at the drugstore; but without a note in the card nobody follows up on it a month later.
- Today: messages and a portal You reply between clients, you pay commission, and the portal holds the client email.
- Later: booking on your own website No commission, with a reminder and with a history that stays yours.
What stands behind it
I have not built for a beauty salon yet. The closest thing I have is a bike service with booking in six languages, no commission and a history tied to the card, which is the same task. What is extra in beauty work is the different treatment lengths and the sensitive data about clients, and that has to be handled more carefully than bicycles.
I built fee-free bookings for a bike service that was paying roughly a thousand euros a year for a paid portal. After the switch to its own booking that fee vanished and the number of reservations did not drop.
The same website reached an average position of 5.9 in Google and 3,125 impressions in the first month. For a salon that lives off clients from the neighbourhood, that is the more important half of the work.
Frequent questions
I work alone at home. Is it not too big for me?
The opposite is true: with one person you save the most, because there is nobody to hand the message answering to. A system for one person is smaller and cheaper.
What if a client does not show up?
A reminder cuts that down a lot and a freed slot can be offered on right away. We can also turn on a booking deposit, but I recommend starting without it.
We have three beauticians and each does different treatments.
That is common. Each has her own calendar, her own list of treatments and her own working hours; the client picks either a person or just a time.
Who owns the client data?
You do. It sits in your database, it can be exported, and nobody gates your access to it behind a monthly fee.
Are you answering bookings between clients?
Tell me how many bookings you have a month and how many of them come through messages. Bookings arrive without you and you stop reaching for the phone between clients. The first call is free.
