A record of machine moves and material hauled in cubic metres and trips, so the whole transport gets billed. This is the line that companies miss the most and only notice a year later.

What stands behind it
I have not built for earthworks specifically yet. The closest is the system for construction equipment rental, where the machine records, trips, and pricing are already sorted. What is missing there is engine hours and diesel consumption by job, and that is exactly the part that would bring you the most; it needs to be done properly.
The closest finished system is the one for scaffolding rental, which tracks what went out, what came back, how much it weighed, and how many trips it took. The logic of tracking expensive equipment on the move is the same.
While building it we first took apart the client Excel and found 10 errors in it. With engine hours the error is less visible but more expensive, because it repeats on every single job.
Common questions
Our operators will not type anything into a phone.
That is why it has to be three taps: machine, job, engine-hour reading. Anything more and they skip it, and the system is worthless. This is the only form I have seen work in the field.
We have GPS units in the machines. Can it be connected?
If the unit offers an interface or at least exports, yes, and that is the best route, because then nobody logs engine hours by hand.
We bill sometimes by the hour, sometimes by the cubic metre, sometimes a flat rate.
That is normal and the system expects it. The rate is a property of the job, not the company, so it can be mixed even within a single site.
How much does it cost?
From 1,400 EUR, with no per-user fee. With seasonal temps that is the main difference against off-the-shelf programs.
